Feels Like a Saturday!

All day I’ve been having to remind myself that today is just Friday and NOT Saturday.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining in the least.  In fact, I’m rather excited that today feels like Saturday because it means that I get to experience TWO Saturdays this weekend. 🙂  It’s all thanks to Tim’s boss giving him the day off for his birthday – which was yesterday.  Yay!!!

Instead of tackling home projects at the crack of dawn, we took our time and did something as a family.  Today was the first time that the boys and I were able to go with Tim onto the new homestead location and do some exploring together.  It was so much fun romping around all the land and talking about where we would like to start building our new house and where the inner boundary fence will go, etc.  About the only down side to the excursion was Eli’s sudden fear of mud.  Yes, my four year old REFUSED to step anywhere there was mud (which was about everywhere since we’ve had rain almost every day this past week!)  I don’t get it at all.  He was even wearing his rubber boots so his feet and half his legs were completely protected.  I shouldn’t laugh at his fears, but hearing him squealing and whining like a little girl was a bit much for me to hold back on the giggles.

Found a turtle while out exploring.

Love Isaac’s face in this picture.  You can tell he just woke up from a nap in the car.

Posing for a picture in the exact spot where we will build our new house.  Love the surrounding wooded view!

Throwing sticks and rocks into the stream that runs through the center of the land.  This is when Eli stopped whining and actually started having some fun. Haha! 🙂

Just a few feet away the water was flowing fast and hard against the rocks making a joyful bubbling sound.  Aahh…so relaxing and peaceful.  You can see in this picture just how tall the banks are.  This stream can really fill up when there is heavy rain!

  1. Absolutely breathtaking! I must say I am a bit jealous. A beautiful piece of property from what the photos show. And what a way to raise those boys where they can run, roam and explore. Congratulations!
